Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

By installing or using the HiFromShop Shopify app (“the App”, “we”, “us”), you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t install or use the App. We’ve tried to keep this plain and short.

What the App does

HiFromShop lets Shopify merchants:

  • Upload video messages and link them to orders
  • Generate QR-code PDFs that point to those videos
  • Manage custom orders and PDF designs
  • Deliver personalized videos to customers through scannable QR codes

The App connects to your store through Shopify and the Shopify Admin API.

Your Shopify data and permissions

  • The App accesses your store only through the Shopify Admin API, using the permissions you approve when you install it (currently the ability to read your orders and customers).
  • The App never changes your orders, products, or customers. The only changes it makes in Shopify are setting up the billing charge you approve and the background notifications it needs to work.
  • To show your orders quickly, the App keeps a copy of them (see our Privacy Policy for details).
  • Your Shopify access key is encrypted and never shared with third parties or your customers.

Your responsibilities

As a merchant, you’re responsible for:

  • Having the right to upload and share any video or content you put in the App
  • Getting any consent you need from your customers before sending them videos
  • Following the laws that apply to you, including privacy and data protection laws
  • Keeping your login and session details secure
  • Not using the App to store or share illegal, harmful, or abusive content

Your content

  • You own the videos and PDF designs you upload and create. We don't claim any ownership of them.
  • We don't use your content or your data to train AI or machine-learning systems.
  • We may suspend or end your access if we become aware of content that breaks these Terms or the law.

Plans, billing, and cancellation

  • The App offers a free plan (with a limited number of videos) and paid plans with higher or unlimited limits and extra features.
  • Paid plans are monthly subscriptions billed through Shopify at the price shown in the App when you subscribe. The charge appears on your Shopify invoice.
  • If you reach your plan's video limit, you'll need to upgrade to add more videos. Videos you already uploaded aren't affected.
  • You can cancel or downgrade at any time from within the App; this stops future charges and moves you to the free plan.
  • Because billing runs through Shopify, refunds are handled under Shopify’s billing rules. Subscription fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law.
  • If we change our prices, we'll give you reasonable advance notice. Continuing to use a paid plan after a price change means you accept the new price.

Service availability

We work to keep the App running, but we can’t guarantee it will always be available. It may be down for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control. The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

Your data and privacy

How we handle data, and how long we keep it, is explained in our Privacy Policy. In short: your data is kept while your store is connected, deleted right away when you disconnect, and deleted within 48 hours if you uninstall.

Services we rely on

  • Shopify — sign-in, store access, and billing
  • Cloudflare R2 — storing your videos

We’re not responsible for the availability or practices of these third parties.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we’re not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the App in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law — including liability for intent or gross negligence, and any mandatory rights you have as a consumer.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be handled by the competent courts of Switzerland, unless mandatory law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If you keep using the App after a change, that means you accept the updated Terms. The latest version is always at this address, and we’ll update the date above when we change it.
