Frequently Asked Questions

How do I connect my Shopify store?

  1. Find HiFromShop in the Shopify App Store and click Install
  2. Review the requested permissions and click Install app in your Shopify admin
  3. You will be redirected to the HiFromShop dashboard — your store is now connected

What permissions does HiFromShop need?

The App requires standard Shopify read scopes:

  • read_orders — to fetch your order list
  • read_products — to fetch product details for orders
  • read_customers — to access customer names for video personalization

The App does not modify your store data.

How do I upload a video?

In your HiFromShop dashboard, select an order and click Upload Video. Choose your video file and select the orientation (horizontal or vertical). Videos are automatically converted to a web-friendly format.

How do my customers view the videos?

When you create a PDF with linked videos, each video gets a unique public URL in the format /v/{hash}?s={secret}. Customers scan the QR code on the PDF to watch their personalized video.

How do I disconnect my store?

Go to Settings in your HiFromShop dashboard and click Disconnect Store. This immediately and permanently deletes all your data from our systems.

What happens if I uninstall the app?

When you uninstall from the Shopify admin, all sessions are revoked immediately, and all your data is permanently deleted 48 hours later.

What video formats are supported?

Upload any common video format — the server transcodes to H.264/AAC MP4. Max input file size is 500 MB; output is capped at 2 MB.

Is my data secure?

Yes. All access tokens are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM). Videos are stored in S3-compatible storage with access controlled by random secrets. All endpoints use security headers (HSTS, CSP, X-Frame-Options, etc.). See Privacy Policy for details.
